LAURA DONOVAN

Laura is a proud editor and writer for the Levo (League).

A northern California girl, Laura joined the L(L) in mid-October and was thrilled to reunite with her kind - west coast transplants - after a year of working in serious Washington, DC. In May 2010, Laura graduated from the University of Arizona, where she wrote for the school newspaper. When she finished school a year and a half ago, Laura thought her future jobs and life would never live up to her amazing college experiences, but to her relief, she was quickly proven wrong. Upon graduating, Laura wrote for The Daily Caller, a 24-hour news site. Though she loved her colleagues and work, Laura felt a sense of displacement in bureaucratic Washington, DC and decided she needed to reside in a more creative part of the country and cover topics that mattered to her. In October 2011, she jumped on board with the L(L) and relocated to cosmopolitan New York. It was the best decision of her life, as she wanted to explore women’s issues and support working females.

Though a huge fan of NYC and its many writing opportunities, Laura misses the dry heat and cacti of Tucson, which has ousted northern California as her true home. Since the age of seven, Laura has known she was meant to work in the non-fiction writing industry and reach out to others with her uninhibited voice. Laura is thrilled to address issues that many PYPs face and serve as an ally for women starting out in their careers. She hopes to someday emulate David Sedaris by penning books about her childhood and young adult life. Laura believes everyone has a story to tell and should share such experiences with the world.
